I have always been drawn to objects. How they are made, how they function, what purpose they serve, and whether their form is worth looking at. Not in an academic way, just a persistent, can't-turn-it-off kind of curiosity that has been there for as long as I can remember. Growing up in a family that encouraged that kind of thinking made it easy to follow where it led, eventually to a Bachelor of Industrial Design at RMIT, completed with First Class Honours, a WAM of 82 and a GPA of 3.8.

I chose industrial design because it refuses to put you in a box. Most disciplines ask you to specialise early and stay there. Industrial design does the opposite. One project you are deep in material behaviour and manufacturing process, the next you are working through a service system, a piece of furniture, something wearable, a digital interface. That breadth is not a side effect of the discipline, it is the whole reason I chose it. I am interested in fashion, furniture, products, graphics, digital design, wearables, systems, services. If it was designed by someone, I want to understand how and why, and I probably already have an opinion about it.

What ties all of it together is a fairly simple conviction: good design is good design. It does not need a manifesto or a niche or a signature aesthetic to justify itself. It needs to be considered, to last, to serve the person using it, and ideally to make that person feel something. I have little patience for objects that are made to be thrown away. If something is worth making, it is worth making properly, with real attention given to material, process, longevity, and meaning.

The design process itself is something I genuinely enjoy from start to finish. Research, problem framing, ideation, prototyping, refinement. None of it feels like a chore. There is something satisfying about taking a problem apart and rebuilding it as something tangible, something that did not exist before and now does.

I am Melbourne-based, half German, half Australian-British, and my influences stretch well beyond the studio. I run regularly, which teaches you something about pacing and persistence. I am deeply into music and film, both of which shape how I think about atmosphere, rhythm, and the emotional register of a thing. I socialise widely and pay attention to people. All of it feeds the work in ways that are sometimes direct and sometimes harder to trace, but it is all in there.

I am a recent graduate and I am looking for clients, collaborators, and employers who want someone genuinely invested in every stage of the process, someone who brings both rigour and personality to what they make. I am not going to pretend to be a blank slate to fit a brief. My interests are specific, my taste is developed, and I am vocal about both. If that aligns with what you are looking for, we will probably work well together. If not, that is fine too. Not every fit is the right fit.
